Overview

XA19 is a murine IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed by T&TvaX LLP for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and asthma induced by *Artemisia vulgaris* (mugwort) pollen. It functions as an allergen-specific IgE-blocking antibody that binds with high affinity to the major mugwort allergen, Art v 1, as well as crude pollen extract. By binding to the allergen, XA19 prevents the interaction between the allergen and IgE on the surface of mast cells and basophils, thereby inhibiting the allergic inflammatory cascade. In preclinical mouse models, intranasal administration of XA19 significantly reduced clinical symptoms of rhinitis, airway hyperresponsiveness, and pulmonary Th2 cytokine levels (IL-4 and IL-5) without affecting systemic IgE levels.
