Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XAB06 is a preclinical-stage glyco-humanized polyclonal antibody (GH-pAb) candidate being developed by Xenothera for the treatment of infectious diseases. The drug is produced using Xenothera's proprietary platform, which utilizes genetically modified animals that lack the immunogenic sugar Neu5Gc (N-glycolylneuraminic acid). This engineering is intended to produce antibodies that are more compatible with the human immune system, thereby reducing the risk of serum sickness and other adverse reactions typically associated with animal-derived polyclonal sera. As a polyclonal therapy, XAB06 is designed to recognize and neutralize multiple epitopes of a target pathogen, which may provide a broader therapeutic effect and higher barrier to resistance compared to monoclonal antibody treatments.
