Overview

XAB5 is a preclinical-stage glyco-humanized polyclonal antibody (GH-pAb) being developed by Xenothera. It is produced using the company's proprietary platform, which involves genetically engineering animals (typically pigs) to lack immunogenic non-human glycan structures, such as N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc). This technology aims to provide the broad-spectrum therapeutic benefits of polyclonal antibodies while minimizing the risk of adverse immune reactions like serum sickness. XAB5 is specifically designed to modulate pathways related to Natural Killer (NK) cells and monocytes, although its precise molecular targets have not been publicly disclosed. As of 2019, the candidate was in the preclinical stage of development for unspecified conditions involving NK cell and monocyte dysfunction.
