Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xalix is a topical prescription medication containing a high concentration (28%) of salicylic acid, manufactured for Cintex Services. It is specifically indicated for the treatment and removal of common warts and plantar warts. The drug functions as a keratolytic agent, which promotes the shedding of hyperkeratotic skin by dissolving the intercellular substance in the stratum corneum. This mechanical removal of epidermal cells helps eliminate tissue infected with wart viruses. Xalix is formulated in a polyacrylic, film-forming solution that adheres to the wart, providing a protective cover and localized treatment without the necessity of a bandage.
