Overview

Xanthohumol + quercetin is a combination of two natural flavonoid compounds: xanthohumol, a prenylated chalcone found primarily in hops, and quercetin, a flavonol widely present in fruits and vegetables. Both are investigated for their anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, and metabolic effects. Preclinical studies suggest that both xanthohumol and quercetin independently possess antitumor activities, modulate the gut microbiota, and inhibit oxidative stress by scavenging reactive oxygen species and inhibiting specific enzymes such as aldose reductase, albeit through distinct pathways. The combination does not have an established pharmaceutical name or regulatory status but is explored as a dietary supplement or nutraceutical for colorectal cancer and metabolic syndrome prevention, with emerging evidence suggesting potential synergy in disease-modifying effects when co-administered[1][2][3][4][5].
