Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XAV03 (also known as XAV3) is a glyco-humanized polyclonal antibody (GH-pAb) candidate developed by Xenothera for the treatment of infectious diseases, with a primary focus on Ebola virus disease. Utilizing Xenothera's proprietary platform, XAV03 is produced by immunizing animals and subsequently removing the immunogenic Neu5Gc (N-glycolylneuraminic acid) sugar residues from the antibodies. This 'glyco-humanization' process is designed to prevent serum sickness and other adverse immune reactions typically associated with non-human polyclonal sera, while maintaining the broad-spectrum efficacy of a multi-epitope response. XAV03 is intended to neutralize the target pathogen by binding to multiple sites on its surface proteins, such as the Ebola virus glycoprotein. As of 2024, the program is in Phase 1 clinical development.
