Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xavertia is a generic anticoagulant medication containing the active ingredient rivaroxaban. It is a small molecule drug that acts as a direct, highly selective inhibitor of Factor Xa, a key protein in the blood coagulation cascade. By inhibiting Factor Xa, Xavertia prevents the conversion of prothrombin to thrombin, thereby reducing the formation of blood clots. It is marketed by Innovis Pharma in Greece and is indicated for the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in adult patients undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery, as well as for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).
