Overview

xB3-NOX4 small interfering RNA is a preclinical research compound developed by Bioasis Technologies. It utilizes the company's proprietary xB3 platform, which is based on a modified version of melanotransferrin (p97), to facilitate the transport of a small interfering RNA (siRNA) payload across the blood-brain barrier (BBB). The siRNA specifically targets NOX4 (NADPH oxidase 4), a gene associated with the production of reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress, which are key drivers of neuronal damage in ischemic stroke. By knocking down NOX4 expression in the central nervous system, the drug aims to reduce neuroinflammation and infarct size.
