XBIO-015 is a recombinant human DNase I enzyme therapy being developed by Xenetic Biosciences for use as an adjunctive treatment in oncology. Its primary mechanism is the degradation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) within the tumor microenvironment. NETs are implicated in promoting cancer progression, metastasis, and resistance to chemotherapy and immunotherapy by fostering an immunosuppressive environment. By digesting NETs, XBIO-015 aims to improve therapeutic responses when combined with standard treatments such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The drug is currently under preclinical and early clinical investigation for several solid tumors, including pancreatic carcinoma, colorectal cancer, relapsed/refractory osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma, and other locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors[1][3][4][5][6][7].
