Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XC243 is an orally bioavailable small molecule antagonist of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) being developed by Pharmenterprises. The drug is designed to treat inflammatory conditions of the bladder, specifically exacerbations of chronic cystitis, by blocking the TLR4-mediated signaling pathways that contribute to inflammation and pain. XC243 has undergone Phase I clinical evaluation for safety and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers and has progressed to Phase II multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials to assess its efficacy in reducing symptoms such as pain and burning during urination in patients with chronic cystitis.
