Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The Xcede Hemostatic Patch is a resorbable medical device designed to control severe, traumatic bleeding in surgical settings, including general surgery, cardiovascular procedures, and liver resections. Developed by Xcede Technologies (a subsidiary of Dynasil Corporation of America), the patch utilizes a proprietary adhesive backing that combines a fibrin hemostatic with a sealant. It works by bonding to the glycoprotein layer of tissues within 30 to 60 seconds, providing a high-strength seal that is effective even under high pressure and is independent of the patient's natural coagulation status. The device is designed for rapid application, requiring less than one minute of preparation.
