XCEL-M-ALPHA is an ex vivo expanded autologous bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) product developed for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. It is administered as a single intra-articular infusion. Clinical trials have shown it to be safe and well-tolerated, with benefits including long-lasting pain reduction, improved quality of life, and signs of cartilage regeneration. The product utilizes the multilineage differential potential, immunosuppressive and self-renewal capabilities of bone marrow MSCs.
