XCUR17 is an antisense spherical nucleic acid (SNA) drug candidate designed to target the mRNA encoding interleukin 17 receptor alpha (IL-17RA). By inhibiting IL-17RA expression through RNA interference, it aims to reduce inflammation associated with diseases such as psoriasis. Developed by Exicure and Dermelix Biotherapeutics, XCUR17 has demonstrated significant improvements in clinical scores for psoriasis in Phase 1 trials and has shown efficacy in preclinical models by reducing IL-17RA levels and related inflammatory markers. Its development has been suspended for indications including alopecia, Netherton syndrome, and psoriasis[1][2][3][4][5].
