Overview

Xdarzane is a biosimilar candidate to daratumumab, the original drug marketed as Darzalex. Daratumumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets CD38, a cell surface protein highly expressed on multiple myeloma cells. By binding to CD38, daratumumab induces tumor cell death through several mechanisms including direct apoptosis, antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), and antibody-dependent cellular phagocytosis (ADCP). Xdarzane is being developed by Xbrane Biopharma as a cost-effective alternative for the treatment of multiple myeloma and potentially other neoplasms. As of early 2025, it remains in preclinical development with ongoing efforts focused on demonstrating biochemical similarity to the reference product and optimizing production processes[1][3][5].
