xeligekimab

Xeligekimab is a recombinant human IgG4 monoclonal antibody that neutralizes interleukin 17A (IL‑17A). Developed by Genrix (Shanghai) Biopharmaceutical, it is designed to treat inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Xeligekimab binds with high affinity and specificity to IL‑17A, blocking its interaction with the IL‑17A receptor, thereby inhibiting downstream pro-inflammatory cytokines such as CXCL1 and IL‑6. This mechanism reduces inflammation and abnormal skin cell proliferation associated with conditions like plaque psoriasis. Xeligekimab received its first approval in China in August 2024 for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy. It is also under regulatory review for axial spondyloarthritis and in phase II development for lupus nephritis[1][3][5][6][7].
