Overview

Xenysalate (also known as biphenamine) is a small molecule drug belonging to the class of organic compounds known as biphenyls and derivatives. It has been used primarily in dermatological applications, including medicated shampoos for the treatment of seborrheic scalp disorders. Xenysalate exhibits local anesthetic properties with additional antibacterial and antifungal effects. Its precise molecular mechanism of action remains unclear; however, it is recognized for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The compound is experimental and has reached up to Phase II clinical trials[1][2][3][4][5].
