Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XeroDuo is a preclinical-stage medical device developed by XeroThera, Inc. It is a xerogel-based dual antibiotic delivery system designed for local application at surgical sites during surgery. Utilizing a proprietary nanoporous, oxide-based xerogel biomaterial (composed of silica, calcium, and phosphate), XeroDuo provides controlled, simultaneous release of two antibiotics to target resistant bacterial infections, such as MRSA. It is intended for the prevention and treatment of surgical site infections (SSI) and implant-associated infections. The platform allows surgeons to select specific antibiotics at the time of surgery based on clinical needs.
