Overview

XG-104 is a synthetic peptide drug developed by Xigen for the treatment of eye diseases, specifically dry eye syndromes and xerophthalmia. Its mechanism of action is as an inhibitor of c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), also known as JNK mitogen-activated protein kinase. By inhibiting JNK, XG-104 targets pathways involved in inflammation and cellular stress responses that contribute to ocular surface disease. The drug has reached Phase 2 clinical trials for dry eye syndromes but has not been approved or marketed in any country.
