Overview

XG2002 is an orally bioavailable small molecule modulator of the Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) channel, developed by Xgene Pharmaceutical Group. TRPM8 is a cold-sensing non-selective cation channel primarily expressed in sensory neurons and is a key mediator in the detection of environmental cold and the development of cold allodynia. XG2002 is designed to target TRPM8 to treat various chronic pain conditions, with a specific focus on metastatic bone pain. The drug candidate has successfully completed a Phase 1 clinical trial in Australia, which assessed its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects.
