Drug intelligence / Profile preview
XH-S003 is an orally administered small molecule inhibitor of the complement system, specifically targeting complement factor B (CFB) in the alternative pathway. It was independently developed by Fosun Pharma and its subsidiary S-INFINITY, with initial development by Zhejiang Xinghao Pengbo Pharmaceutical. The drug is designed to treat diseases associated with abnormal activation of the complement system, such as Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH) and IgA nephropathy. By inhibiting CFB upstream of the terminal C5 pathway, XH-S003 controls both intravascular and extravascular hemolysis and may offer superior efficacy compared to C5 monoclonal antibody therapies. Its oral formulation provides a convenient alternative to injectable treatments for patients with complement-mediated disorders[1][2][3][5].
