Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiakucao Xiaoliu mixure is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation currently undergoing investigation as an adjunctive therapy for advanced gastric cancer. The mixture is designed to be administered in combination with conventional chemotherapy regimens, such as DCF (docetaxel, cisplatin, and 5-fluorouracil). Its primary component, Prunella vulgaris (Xia Ku Cao), is recognized for its diverse anti-tumor properties, which include inducing apoptosis, inhibiting cell proliferation, invasion, metastasis, and angiogenesis, as well as modulating immune function. The formulation is believed to exert its therapeutic effects through the modulation of various signaling pathways, including Wnt/β-catenin, PI3/Akt, AMPK/mTOR/ULK1, and RANKL/RANK/OPG. Additionally, it exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiviral activities.
