Overview
Xia Li Qi Capsule is a patented Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Hebei Yiling Pharmaceutical for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and chronic prostatitis. Formulated based on TCM principles to tonify the kidney, invigorate Qi, clear heat, and promote diuresis, it is composed of several herbal ingredients including Astragalus membranaceus, Prunella vulgaris, and Litchi seed. Pharmacological studies indicate that the capsule exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the proliferation of prostate epithelial and stromal cells, reducing the expression of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6, and modulating the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway. It is approved in China and widely used to improve lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and urodynamic parameters in patients with mild to moderate BPH.
