Xia Li Qi Jiaonang (夏荔芪胶囊) is a Chinese patent medicine formulated as a hard capsule containing brown to dark brown granules. It is primarily used for the treatment of mild to moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in patients with spleen-kidney qi deficiency and phlegm-stasis syndrome according to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory. The main ingredients include Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi), Ligustrum lucidum (Nvzhenzi), Talcum, Prunella vulgaris (Xiakucao), Litchi seed (Lizhihe), Amber, Cinnamomum cassia (Rougui), and Phellodendron amurense (Huangbai). The mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—tonifying the spleen and kidney, promoting diuresis, resolving masses—and it has demonstrated efficacy in improving urinary symptoms such as weak urination and frequent nocturia in clinical studies.
