Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiang Bin Fang (香槟方) is a traditional Chinese herbal formula composed of several herbs, including Amomum villosum (砂仁), Lindera aggregata (乌药), Panax ginseng (人参片), Prunus persica (桃仁), and Areca catechu (槟榔). It is primarily used to promote gastrointestinal motility and enhance recovery of gastrointestinal function, particularly in the perioperative period. Mechanistically, Xiang Bin Fang has been shown to increase plasma motilin levels by acting on Mo cell receptors, thereby stimulating gastric motility and improving digestive function[8][1]. The formula is studied for its role in accelerating postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function.
