Xianghua Compound granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital for the treatment of insomnia disorder, specifically the liver depression (Gan Yu) pattern. In TCM theory, liver depression can lead to emotional instability and sleep disturbances; this formulation is designed to soothe the liver, regulate qi, and calm the mind (An Shen). The drug is administered orally in granule form and has been evaluated in randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trials to assess its efficacy in improving sleep quality and safety in adult outpatients diagnosed by ICD-10 and TCM criteria.
