Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiao Chuan Gao (消喘膏), also known as Xiaochuan Plaster, is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) topical paste used for acupoint herbal patching (Sanfu Tie). Developed primarily by Guang'anmen Hospital, the formulation typically includes *Sinapis alba*, *Asarum heterotropoides*, *Corydalis yanhusuo*, and *Euphorbia kansui* mixed with ginger juice. It is applied to specific acupuncture points during the "Sanfu" days of summer to treat "winter diseases" such as bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, and allergic rhinitis. The treatment is designed to stimulate acupoints and provide percutaneous absorption of herbal ingredients to regulate immune function and prevent seasonal respiratory exacerbations.
