Overview
Xiao Han Li Qi Tang (消鼾利气汤) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula used primarily for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS). The formula typically contains ingredients such as Fritillaria thunbergii (浙贝母), dried tangerine peel (陈皮), and bamboo shavings (竹茹), among others, which work together to clear heat, resolve phlegm, regulate qi, and promote blood circulation. Clinical studies have shown that Xiao Han Li Qi Tang or its granule form can improve OSAHS symptoms by reducing phlegm-dampness constitution scores, TCM syndrome scores, apnea-hypopnea index, and improving oxygen saturation during sleep. The mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—clearing heat and resolving phlegm to restore airway patency and improve respiratory function[1][2][3].
