xiaoaiping

Xiaoaiping is a Chinese patent medicine derived from the extract of Marsdenia tenacissima (Roxb.) Wight et Arn. It is primarily used as an injectable herbal preparation in China for its broad-spectrum anti-tumor properties. Xiaoaiping has been studied and used as an adjunct to chemotherapy in various cancers, including gastric cancer, liver cancer, lung cancer (notably non-small cell lung cancer), breast cancer, and esophageal carcinoma. Its mechanisms are believed to include inhibition of tumor cell proliferation and angiogenesis, enhancement of immune function (such as promoting CD8+ T cell infiltration), downregulation of drug resistance proteins like P-glycoprotein, suppression of vascular endothelial growth factor signaling and protein kinase B pathway in tumor cells, and reduction of inflammatory responses. Clinical studies suggest that Xiaoaiping may improve the efficacy of chemotherapy while reducing adverse effects such as thrombocytopenia and other chemotherapy-induced toxicities[1][2][4][5][6].
