Overview

Xiaochaihu decoction (Xiao Chai Hu Tang) is a classic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula composed of seven herbal ingredients: *Bupleurum chinense*, *Scutellaria baicalensis*, *Panax ginseng*, *Pinellia ternata*, *Glycyrrhiza uralensis*, *Zingiber officinale*, and *Ziziphus jujuba*. It is traditionally used to harmonize the Shao Yang (Lesser Yang) stage and treat conditions characterized by alternating chills and fever, chest fullness, and irritability. In modern clinical research, it is investigated for its anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, and hepatoprotective properties. In the context of reproductive medicine, it has been studied for its potential to improve oocyte quality and IVF outcomes in patients with liver stagnation and Qi stagnation.
