Overview
Xiaoer Chaigui antipyretic oral liquid is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation specifically developed for pediatric use to treat fever associated with acute upper respiratory tract infections. Developed by the First Affiliated Hospital of Tianjin University of Chinese Medicine, the formula is based on classical TCM principles, combining elements of the Xiao Chai Hu and Gui Zhi decoctions. Its primary active ingredients include *Radix Bupleuri*, *Ramulus Guizhi*, *Radix Scutellariae*, and *Radix Puerariae*. The preparation works by inducing diaphoresis to expel pathogens from the body's exterior, clearing internal heat, and relieving symptoms such as fever, headache, nasal congestion, and sore throat. It is widely utilized in China as a standard treatment for wind-heat type common colds and influenza in children.
