Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaoer Chaigui Tuire Granules is a pediatric traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) granule formulation widely used in China for the treatment of fever, upper respiratory tract infections, influenza, and common colds in children. The formula is derived from the classical Han-dynasty prescriptions 'Guizhi Gegen Tang' and 'Xiaochaihu Tang' from the Treatise on Cold Damage (Shanghan Lun). It is composed of seven herbal ingredients: Bupleurum root (Chaihu), Cassia twig (Guizhi), Kudzuvine root (Gegen), Common ducksmeat herb (Fuping), Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin), White Peony Root (Baishao), and Cicada Slough (Chantui). Its primary therapeutic functions are to promote sweating, release the exterior, clear the interior, and reduce fever. It is manufactured and marketed by companies such as Guizhou Bailing and Sunflower Pharmaceutical.
