Overview
Xiaoer Huangjin Zhike Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed by Beijing Dongfang Yunjia Technology Development and manufactured by Zhejiang Jolly Pharmaceutical. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of acute bronchitis in children, particularly targeting symptoms such as cough, excessive phlegm, and fever associated with the 'lung heat' pattern in TCM diagnosis. The formulation is a multi-herb mixture containing extracts from *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Ephedra sinica* (Mahuang), *Armeniaca sibirica* (Xingren), and *Gypsum fibrosum* (Shigao), among others. Its pharmacological action is characterized by bronchodilation, mediated by beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonism from ephedrine alkaloids, and anti-inflammatory activity through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzymes and inflammatory cytokines. It was approved by the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in 2016 as a modernized TCM granule formulation.
