Overview
Xiaoer Jinqiao granules (also known as Xiaoer Qingiao granules) is a traditional Chinese patent medicine developed and manufactured by Sichuan Kaijing Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Yifan Pharmaceutical. It is formulated from seven traditional Chinese herbs: Lonicera japonica (honeysuckle), Forsythia suspensa, Pueraria lobata (kudzu root), Isatis tinctoria (isatis leaf), Sophora tonkinensis (tonkin sophora root), Bupleurum chinense (bupleurum root), and Glycyrrhiza uralensis (licorice). The granules are primarily indicated for the treatment of wind-heat syndrome in children, which manifests as fever, aversion to cold, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, and cough. It is widely used in China for pediatric acute tonsillitis and is being evaluated in Phase 4 clinical trials for pediatric influenza.
