The name translates to "Children's Ephedra-Dragon Cough-Stopping and Wheezing-Calming" formula. It typically contains a blend of herbs including Ephedra sinica (Ma Huang), Prunus armeniaca (apricot kernel), Gypsum fibrosum (Shi Gao), and other botanicals that are commonly used in TCM to relieve cough, reduce phlegm, calm wheezing, clear heat from the lungs, and support respiratory function[2][5]. The mechanism of action is based on TCM principles—Ephedra sinica acts as a bronchodilator and expectorant by unblocking lung qi and stopping wheezing; Prunus armeniaca helps moisten the lungs and stop coughing; Gypsum fibrosum clears internal heat.
