Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaofeng Xuanqiao is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) granule formulation developed by Suzhou Zhongyao Pharmaceutical Group for the treatment of perennial allergic rhinitis. Based on the TCM principles of dispelling wind and opening the nasal orifices, the formula is designed to alleviate chronic symptoms such as nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, and sneezing. The pharmacological action of Xiaofeng Xuanqiao involves the modulation of the allergic immune response, specifically by inhibiting the production of allergen-specific IgE and regulating the balance of Th1 and Th2 cytokines. Clinical development in China has progressed to Phase 3 trials, positioning it as a potential standardized herbal therapy for patients with persistent allergic rhinitis who seek alternatives to conventional antihistamines or corticosteroids.
