Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaopenyan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Jilin Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (CPID). It is most commonly marketed as Xiaopenyan Granules (Xiaopenyan Keli). The preparation is composed of several herbal ingredients, including *Sargentodoxa cuneata*, *Patrinia villosa*, *Cyperus rotundus*, *Paeonia lactiflora*, and *Corydalis yanhusuo*. Its therapeutic mechanism is based on TCM principles of clearing heat, detoxifying, and promoting blood circulation to resolve stasis and alleviate pain, specifically targeting the "damp-heat stasis" syndrome. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing inflammatory markers such as TNF-alpha and IL-6, alleviating chronic pelvic pain, and promoting the absorption of pelvic inflammatory masses or adnexal thickening.
