Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaoshi Lidan Capsule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) primarily used for the treatment of chronic cholecystitis, gallstones, post-gallbladder surgery syndrome, and functional diseases of the biliary tract. It functions by soothing the liver, promoting bile excretion (cholagogic effect), promoting qi, relieving pain, clearing heat, detoxifying, and expelling stones. The drug is a combination of multiple herbal ingredients, including vinegar-processed Bupleurum root, green tangerine peel, Scutellaria baicalensis root, white peony root, rhubarb, turmeric, Lysimachia christinae, Lygodium japonicum, stir-fried chicken gizzard lining, Artemisia capillaris, turmeric, vinegar-processed Sparganium rhizome, and Clematis root. Pharmacological studies suggest that its active compounds, such as quercetin, luteolin, and paeoniflorin, may contribute to its therapeutic effects by regulating inflammatory factors like IL6, promoting bile secretion, and enhancing the excretion of total bile acid and bilirubin, thereby aiding in the dissolution of cholesterol and bile pigments and inhibiting stone formation.
