Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaoshuan is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, typically administered as enteric-coated capsules, used primarily for the treatment and recovery of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The formula is composed of multiple herbal extracts, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Huangqi), *Salvia miltiorrhiza* (Danshen), and *Lumbricus* (Dilong), which work synergistically to promote blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, and unblock collaterals. It is widely prescribed in China for the recovery phase of ischemic stroke (cerebral infarction) to improve neurological deficits and prevent recurrent thrombotic events. Recent clinical research, such as trials conducted at the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, has investigated its potential in alleviating fatigue syndrome and improving quality of life in patients following cardiovascular and cerebrovascular accidents.
