**Xiaotansanjiefang** is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) multi-herbal formula historically used for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancers such as colorectal and gastric cancer. It consists of Ban-xia, Nan-xing, Fu-ling, Zhi-shi, Chen-pi, Quan-xie, Wu-gong, Ji-nei-jin, Bei-mu, Bai-jie-zi, and Gan-cao in specific proportions. In vitro and animal studies suggest Xiaotansanjiefang suppresses the proliferation and migration of colorectal cancer cells, promotes apoptosis, and inhibits tumor growth and angiogenesis. Mechanistic studies indicate that its anti-cancer effects are closely associated with downregulation of the Jagged 1/Notch 3/Snail signaling pathway, as well as additional modulation of targets and pathways like TP53, MAPK1/3, STAT3, PI3K-Akt, and TNF signaling[1][2]. Its major active small-molecule components include quercetin, β-sitosterol, naringenin, nobiletin, kaempferol, and luteolin.
