Xiaoyan Granules refers to a group of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formulations used for their anti-inflammatory and heat-clearing properties. For example, Jianwei Xiaoyan Granule (JWXYG) is widely used in China for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis and contains multiple herbal components such as albiflorin, paeoniflorin, and lobetyolin[1]. Another variant is Pudilan Xiaoyan granules which include Herba Taraxaci (dandelion), Radix Isatidis (woad root), Indigofera species extracts, baicalin, among others[2]. Mechanistically, these formulations are believed to exert therapeutic effects primarily through inhibition of angiogenesis via regulation of the HIF-1α-VEGF pathway in gastric tissue[1], as well as general anti-inflammatory actions.
