Overview
Xiaoyao Jieyu is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Cangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for the treatment of post-stroke depression (PSD). The formula is designed based on traditional principles of soothing the liver, strengthening the spleen, and relieving qi stagnation to address the psychological and physiological symptoms following a stroke. Clinical research, including trials registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR), has investigated its efficacy in improving Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) scores and its regulatory effects on serum cytokine levels, which are often elevated in patients with depression.
