Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaoyu Xiezhuo Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of chronic cyclosporine nephropathy, a common renal complication in patients with aplastic anemia undergoing long-term immunosuppressive therapy with cyclosporine. The decoction is hypothesized to exert nephroprotective effects by modulating renal autophagy and activating the ACE2-Ang(1-7)-Mas axis. By influencing these pathways, the treatment aims to mitigate the profibrotic and vasoconstrictive damage typically associated with chronic cyclosporine toxicity, thereby improving renal function and patient outcomes.
