Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiaozhong formula granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound preparation developed by the Eye Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences. It is designed as an oral therapeutic for diabetic macular edema (DME), a condition characterized by fluid accumulation in the macula. The formula is based on TCM principles aimed at resolving blood stasis and draining dampness to alleviate retinal swelling. In clinical settings, it is primarily investigated as an adjunctive treatment to be used alongside intravitreal anti-VEGF injections, such as conbercept, with the goal of improving visual outcomes and reducing the frequency of invasive injections.
