Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiefei lishui mixture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF). It is specifically formulated to address the TCM syndrome of phlegm-fluid obstructing the lungs and water-dampness overflowing, which clinically manifests as pulmonary congestion and peripheral edema. The mixture typically contains herbal components such as Descurainiae Semen (Tinglizi), Mori Cortex (Sangbaipi), Poria (Fuling), and Alismatis Rhizoma (Zexie). These ingredients work synergistically to exert diuretic and lung-clearing effects, helping to reduce fluid overload and improve myocardial function. Clinical studies suggest that the mixture can significantly lower N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) levels and improve the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in patients with congestive heart failure.
