Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiere Huazhuo granule is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Professor Ding Xueping at Shuguang Hospital, which is affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The granule is an empirical formula designed to treat obesity by clearing heat (Xiere) and transforming turbidity (Huazhuo), according to TCM principles. It has been evaluated in randomized clinical trials to assess its efficacy and safety compared to Orlistat, focusing on outcomes such as body weight reduction, body fat distribution, blood lipid levels, insulin resistance, and adipokine levels. The formulation aims to address the metabolic underlying causes of obesity through a multi-herbal approach.
