Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xiere Xingpi Yin (XRXPY) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed at the Shanghai Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (affiliated with Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine) for the treatment of simple obesity. It is specifically formulated for patients presenting with the dampness-heat spleen-obstruction (湿热蕴脾) pattern. The formula is prepared as an oral granule or decoction and consists of four main herbal ingredients: Huang Qin (*Scutellaria baicalensis*), Zi Cao (*Arnebia euchroma*), Cang Zhu (*Atractylodes lancea*), and Ge Gen (*Pueraria lobata*). Clinical studies have demonstrated that XRXPY, when combined with lifestyle interventions, significantly improves eating behaviors (such as reducing cognitive restraint and uncontrolled eating), reduces body weight, body mass index (BMI), and waist circumference, and enhances health-related quality of life (HRQoL).
