Xiluoming Zhengqing Fengtongning Tablets

Xiluoming Zhengqing Fengtongning Tablets is an anti-rheumatic traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by Hunan Zhengqing Pharmaceutical (also referred to as Hunan Zhongqi Pharmaceutical). The active ingredient is sinomenine hydrochloride, a monomeric alkaloid extracted from the root and stem of *Sinomenium acutum*. It is approved in China for the treatment of rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, presenting with wind-cold-dampness arthralgia syndrome (characterized by muscle soreness, joint swelling, pain, and stiffness). Sinomenine hydrochloride exerts anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and immunomodulatory effects, primarily by acting as an agonist of the mu-type opioid receptor and downregulating the NF-κB signaling pathway, which subsequently reduces the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6.
