Xinchaotuo

Xinchaotuo is an oral small molecule antihypertensive drug developed by Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals. It is a first-in-class angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) in China, formulated as a co-crystal of sacubitril and allisartan calcium. The drug exerts its therapeutic effect through a dual mechanism: sacubitril inhibits neprilysin, thereby increasing the levels of beneficial natriuretic peptides, while allisartan acts as an antagonist at the type-1 angiotensin II receptor (AT1) to block the harmful effects of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. This combination provides potent blood pressure reduction and offers cardio-renal protection, making it particularly suitable for patients with hypertension complicated by heart failure or chronic kidney disease. Xinchaotuo was approved in China for the treatment of hypertension in 2025 and is undergoing clinical evaluation for chronic heart failure.
