Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xinglou Chengqi Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by Shanxi Zhendong Pharmaceutical for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke (AIS). It is specifically indicated for patients presenting with the 'phlegm-heat and fu-excess' pattern (痰热腑实证), a TCM syndrome characterized by heat accumulation, phlegm obstruction, and constipation. The formula is derived from the classic Xinglou Chengqi Decoction and typically contains Arisaema cum Bile (Dan Nan Xing), Trichosanthes fruit (Gua Lou), Rhubarb (Da Huang), and Natrium sulfuricum (Mang Xiao). Its therapeutic mechanism involves clearing heat, resolving phlegm, and promoting bowel movement to alleviate systemic inflammation and cerebral edema. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase IIa clinical trials in China to determine the optimal dosage and safety profile in AIS patients.
