Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Xingshen Huayu Dripping Pills is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Factory for the treatment of acute cerebral infarction (ischemic stroke). The drug is designed according to the TCM principles of awakening the spirit (Xingshen) and resolving blood stasis (Huayu). Its primary active ingredients are derived from medicinal herbs including *Panax notoginseng* (Sanqi), *Borneolum Syntheticum* (Bingpian), and *Acorus tatarinowii* (Shichangpu). The formulation aims to improve neurological deficits, reduce the volume of cerebral infarction, and protect neurons from ischemic injury. Pharmacologically, it has been shown to improve cerebral microcirculation, inhibit platelet aggregation, and modulate the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, thereby facilitating the delivery of therapeutic components to the brain. It has completed Phase III clinical trials in China, demonstrating efficacy in improving neurological function scores in patients with acute ischemic stroke.
